The Bachelor of Biomedicine will give students fundamental skills in scientific method, critical thinking and problem solving, the analysis of data and evidence, written and oral communication and the ability to work collaboratively in teams. Biomedicine graduates also possess specialist scientific knowledge and technical skills for further research. The degree will also provide pathways, through specific majors, to a range of masters and professionally accredited degrees.
Selected streams in the Bachelor of Biomedicine offer the option of completing an honours year after your third year of study, which will include a research project.
The University has begun to introduce a range of new graduate professional degrees which qualify students for professional registration and employment and provide a pathway to higher research degrees. From 2008-2012 at least 50% of designated places in each course will be offered as Commonwealth Supported Places.
Students enrolling in the University's graduate professional degrees will have completed a suitable undergraduate degree at The University of Melbourne or another recognised university. The graduate programs will offer highly competitive and specialised professional graduate education in a range of disciplines.
