Breadth

A key advantage of the new generation undergraduate degrees is that they offer you the opportunity to develop an understanding and appreciation of fields of study and disciplines that contrast with, yet complement, your core disciplinary studies and majors.

Students elect to study subjects from the specially designed range of ‘breadth’ subjects offered by the university or from the core programs of other undergraduate degrees.

Studying breadth subjects will enhance your university experience and add value to your degree by:

  • bringing you into contact with students from other faculties across the university, broadening your social and future inter-professional networks
  • teaching you about alternative domains of knowledge
  • exposing you to different methods of enquiry
  • giving you the opportunity to study a subject you are passionate about but which does not fall within your own core studies.
